Overview
A water-based, ready-to-use Brickwork Waterproofer and Protector designed to protect brickwork, render, pointing, and other porous surfaces. Brickwork and stone naturally absorb rainwater, in cold conditions the water can freeze causing damage and crumbling bricks. This brick protector dries quickly to form an invisible, water-repellent barrier whilst still allowing the surfaces to breathe. Use to protect pointing, render, stone, concrete, terracotta, and plaster surfaces.
- Stops water damage to brickwork and stone
- Creates a water-repellent barrier
- Fast drying

- Remove any mould or fungal growth with a and allow to dry before applying the Brickwork Waterproofer & Protector.
- Any cracks or weak points in pointing should be repaired.
- Masonry should ideally be cleaned back to bare brick, mortar or render to maximise the effect of the treatment.
Application
We always recommend testing the product on the surface to ensure compatibility. Do not dilute this product, it is supplied and ready to use. Do not apply when the outside temperature falls below 10° (50° F) or when rainfall is imminent.
- Shake well before use, and apply liberally using a brush or roller.
- A second coat is usually required and should be applied within an hour of the first, then leave for 24 hours.
- Drying time will depend on surface porosity and ambient temperature conditions, but usually allow 4 to 6 hours and avoid any pooling of the treatment on horizontal surfaces.
- Highly porous surfaces may require a further coat to ensure a higher degree of water-repellence.
Sandtex Brickwork Waterproofer & Protector will only be effective on bare, clean masonry and should not be applied over sealed or painted surfaces. Blockwork may contain too many cavities to enable complete waterproofing.
